Instructions

We welcome a range of article types. Below you can find out more about the style of each category; further details can be found by clicking on the link

Language and length

Contributions should be written in English (UK). Please keep the text within the limit of 1000-1300 words with a maximum of three tables or illustrations. Book reviews, letters to the editor, proceedings of conferences generally are confined to 500-600 words.

References

Limit the number of references to a maximum of 15. Do not use end- or footnotes, but list them in a separate document according to the sequence in the text. References in the text are placed between brackets, e.g. [1]. Use Vancouver Style for the references, see for example: Reynolds EH, Bottiglieri T, Laundy M et al. Subacute degeneration with high serum vitamin B12 level and abnormal vitamin B12 binding protein. Arch Neurol 1993;50:739-42.

Style

Choose a catchy title (and subtitle). Refer in the introduction to the relevance of the subject by (if possible) linking it to current developments in the field/topic you are covering in the article. Use short meaningful subheadings and end the article with conclusions and/or discussion.

Lay-out, illustrations and photos

Submit the text in Word (version 6.0) or higher (Times New Roman 12 pt). Do not use any special layout for the title and subheadings, and do not include tabs or special enumerating. Submit any illustrations, figures, tables or photos in a separate file. Photo specifics: written consent from the (recognisable) people in a photo is needed. Format should be jpg or tiff, 300 dpi.
